Sexual Assault by a Partner
Sexual assault by a partner is often one part of a larger picture of abuse in the relationship.
An abusive relationship occurs when one partner shows a pattern of taking power and control over the other. The abusive partner may use threats, intimidating looks, control over finances, and many other tactics to remain dominant over his/her partner.
Counselors at RVAP can provide support, legal and medical advocacy, information, and short-term counseling for victims/survivors of intimate partner sexual violence.
