Legal Advocacy
If you or someone you care about has been sexually assaulted, you may want to consider legal or reporting options.
An advocate can be with a victim/survivor, family and/or friends through every step of the legal process. The advocate can explain legal options, offer support and help make sure any questions are answered.
The advocate’s role is to:
- Offer information and emotional support to the victim/survivor
- Act as liaison with the law enforcement officer/detective/prosecutor
- Offer brief emotional support and information to any significant others, friends or family members
For information on the legal options available to sexual assault victims/survivors, please visit the Legal or Reporting Options page.
